Not enough creators are reaching out to brands.

At Mesh, we work with a lot of creators like you who are looking for ways to monetize their content and build their brand. While Mesh helps source brand deals for all creators on our platform, one of the most effective ways to secure sponsorships is by reaching out to brands directly.

Here are some tips for effectively pitching brands and increasing your chances of landing a sponsorship:

  1. Research the brand: Make sure you understand the brand's values, target audience, and product or service offerings. This will help you tailor your pitch and show why a collaboration with you would be a good fit. 

  2. Have a clear value proposition: What can you offer the brand? Are you able to promote their products or services to your audience? Do you have a large following or engagement on your platform? Can they use your content on their socials? Make sure to highlight the value you can bring to the table. A good general rule of thumb is to include quantitative metrics (follower count, engagement rate, CRM) in your media kit, and qualitative metrics (your niche, collaboration ideas) in your outreach email.

  3. Include a content pitch: Make sure to include a couple of collaboration content ideas in your outreach email. This gives the brand more ways to collaborate with you, and removes some work on their end. The easier you can make it for them to say yes, the more likely they will.

  4. Follow up: If you don't hear back after a week or two, it's okay to follow up. A polite email or message reminding them of your pitch and asking if they have any questions or feedback can go a long way.


Here is a brand outreach email template you can use to get started:

Email Body:

Dear [Brand],

My name is [Your Name] and I’m a creator on [Your primary social platforms], making content about [Your Niche]. I am reaching out to see if you’d be interested in doing a sponsorship or collaboration with my platform.

I am a huge fan of [Brand], and I believe my audience of [Audience Demographic] will be as well! I have had successful campaigns in the past working with other [Niche] brands, and we’ve found the most success through [Your Skills/Expertise] (e.g. affiliate programs, video integrations, short form content, stories, product reviews, etc.).

I have attached my media kit, which includes more information about myself and my audience, as well as my pricing. For a collaboration with [Brand Name], I would love to make a [photo/video] where I [content idea 1, content idea 2, or content idea 3]. If you’d like, I’m happy to send over content examples from previous collaborations as well.
